About Us
Techevon was founded in March 2008 to offer consulting services to the anodizing industry with the goal of improving our customers’ productivity. Through our early consulting experiences, we quickly recognized a major trend — an anodizing line’s productivity depends on using the right product and following specific anodizing conditions. Unfortunately, finding the right products, particularly dyes, made to meet an anodizer’s expectations was a real challenge. To meet these needs, Techevon began developing specialized, high-quality dyes and chemistry to complement our consulting services. Nearly two decades later, Techevon has grown to provide chemistry and consulting services to anodizers around the globe. Despite these changes, we are still driven by that same basic question – how do we help our customers become better anodizers?

Unlike traditional suppliers who primarily source and blend existing materials, we focus on developing proprietary formulations designed specifically for anodizing applications. Industry Expertise & Leadership
Pinakin Patel, founder of Techevon, has extensive experience in anodizing, both as a supplier and an industry leader. As Vice President of Pioneer Metal Finishing, the largest job shop anodizer in the U.S., Pinakin gained deep insights into industry challenges. His leadership at Clariant further enhanced his expertise, resulting in patents for environmentally friendly sealing systems and interference coloring of anodized aluminum.
Advancing Product Innovation
At Techevon, innovation drives our product development. We continuously refine and enhance our anodizing dyes to deliver industry-leading solutions. Several of our new molecules are TSCA-registered for U.S. sales. Currently, our focus is on developing dyes that can be sealed using hot DI [EP1] water, eliminating the need for nickel sealing and promoting sustainability.

Pinakin Patel
Founder & President | SC
Pinakin Patel brings extensive expertise in anodizing technology and product innovation. Before founding Techevon, he served as Vice President of Technology at Pioneer Metal Finishing, driving new product development. Previously, as Industry Line Director at Clariant Corporation, he earned multiple patents for environmentally friendly coloring and sealing technologies. A Chemical Engineering graduate (B.S. & M.S.), he started his career at Haviland Chemical, where he pioneered advanced anodizing chemistries and co-founded the Aluminum Anodizing Council.
Tej Patel
Director | IL
With over a decade of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, and operations, Tej Patel has led efficiency and cost-saving initiatives across industries. Before Techevon, he was Vice President at AlixPartners, optimizing manufacturing processes for global clients. He also held key roles at Baxter Inc. and Archstone Consulting, specializing in LEAN manufacturing and operational improvements. Tej holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University.
Karsten Nielsen
Technical Director | IL
Karsten joined Techevon LLC. in January of 2025. Before that, Karsten worked for 21 years at Pioneer Metal Finishing as a Senior Process & Systems Engineer operating their R&D lab and Technologies Division, followed by work at Mid-States Aluminum as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Anodizing, and lately as Director of Coating at Latitude Corp managing the anodizing and powder paint lines. In the course of his career, Karsten has designed and installed anodizing lines, paint and E-coat lines and waste treatment systems. Karsten holds a Masters of Science in Materials Science & Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark. His specialized experience in Materials Science and Anodizing, both from analytical and production perspectives, makes him highly experienced in troubleshooting, process development and efficiency improvements.
Emily Patel
Human Resources and Accounting | IL
Emily manages Human Resources and Accounting for Techevon. Prior to Techevon, she spent 17 years in different roles at Accenture helping companies across industries design and build their talent strategies, operating models, and HR and finance processes. She balances Techevon’s academic credentials with a degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Archana Sonejee
R&D Engineer | IL
Archana started her role at Techevon in 2019. Since then, she has worked directly with customers to develop custom processes, troubleshoot anodizing issues, and provide detailed lab testing of line chemistry, including microscopic analysis, ICP analysis, and process improvement recommendations. She has also trained customers and colleagues in anodizing procedures, troubleshooting methods, tank management, and surface defect prevention. Over the years she has held multiple responsibilities at Techevon including supporting ISO 9001 certification, managing inventory, mentoring interns, and testing new product processes through pilot-scale operations.
Mahe Chandru
Chemical Engineer | TX
Mahe Chandru began her career at Techevon as a Chemical Engineer at the Lancaster facility, where she conducted research and development on anodizing dyes and chemistry. Building on this foundation, she now focuses on providing technical support to customers, working closely with anodizers to troubleshoot real-time production issues and optimize the performance. She earned her M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University–Kingsville and has additional experience in wastewater treatment and industrial R&D.
Jose Venegas
Lab Technician | IL
Jose is responsible for managing and analyzing Techevon customers’ anodizing chemistries and dyes. He provides precise and thorough lab reports and ensures that anodizers receive dependable guidance and actionable recommendations to improve performance and maintain process stability. Jose’s previous experiences helped him gain expertise in lab instrumentation and diagnostic testing across pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
Luz Martinez
Order Processing and Office Manager | IL
Luz is legendary for tracking every detail of every order in her notebooks and our systems. Obsessed with accuracy, quality, and customer satisfaction, she has been important addition to Techevon team since 2022. As the Office Manager of our Chicago location, she also makes sure things are always running smoothly across the facility.

Lionel manages shipping and inventory operations at Chicago location ensuring every order is prepared accurately and delivered on time. His reliability and organization keep day-to-day logistics running smoothly.
Marleny Laguna

Marleny is a key member of Techevon’s technical team, specializing in color matching, analytical testing, and troubleshooting anodizing processes. Her commitment to the work helped her achieve the prestigious award of 40 Under 40 by Products Finishing for 2025. Marleny continues to play a critical role in supporting customers and driving technical excellence across Techevon’s product and service offerings.

Amruta has been a key player of the Techevon team since joining in 2023. She is known for her proactive customer communication and diligence throughout the ordering and fulfillment process. From handling purchase orders to coordinating seamless delivery for both our domestic and international customers, she is willing to ask the hard questions to make sure everything is done right.

Gerson plays a vital role in Techevon’s operations, overseeing product blending, shipping logistics, managing raw material and finished product inventory. He ensures that all dyes and chemicals are blended to specification, and orders are packaged and shipped with precision. With strong operational expertise and commitment to reliability, Gerson keeps the warehouse running efficiently.
